Passover and Resurrection Day

This year, we celebrated Passover with our congregation.  We were blessed to be involved in music and dance presentations, so we attended both Seders as well as the early (pretty much all of us would insist "too early") Resurrection Day service the next morning.  There was so much going on, that I didn't end up with lots of pictures to post, but here's what I do have!
Dancing one of the presentation specials.

Thanks to our friend, she recorded one of the dances.  (Dance starts around 1:10)  I really think this one turned out beautifully!

Family picture on Resurrection Day.
I know we all look exhausted (it was a long weekend!), but this is the only family picture we took!  You know, it's one of those times where everyone looks nice, is all together in one place, it's a special day, so you want to get a picture... and then you get the picture... and nobody likes it.  ;)  Oh well.

April is always a crazy months with lots of music gigs, events, and stuff going on.  Hopefully I can squeeze in a few more posts before the month is out!

Purim Party

Elder Gary wearing his jester hat while giving the message from the book of Esther.

Ready to cheer for Esther, yay for Mordecai, and boo for Haman.  I found that when Mordecai's name comes right after Haman, it's just easier to say "Booyah!"  ;)

Jordan up in the sound booth with Cecily.

Judah dressed up as a guard and wore his kilt, and Benjamin dressed up as a knight!

Men protect the ladies!

Eden and I did a duo costume.  She dressed up as the Mona Lisa and I dressed up as a French painter.  French because the Mona Lisa is owned by the French government (and maybe just because I had a better French costume).

Lindsey is Haman's wife and Shiloh is Abigail.  And the cookie is Haman's hat.

 Attacking Haman!

So we started posing for some group pictures... and then the craziness began!

Some very strange looking people joined our group...

 Gotta love that wig!

All the girls...

And everyone who dressed up... (you couldn't be in the picture unless you had a costume!)

 All these crazy characters!

After all those giggles, we decided to burn off the cookies with some fun dancing!

Wouldn't Burn Away

Let's backtrack to last month, shall we?

We siblings had a blast putting together our very first music/dance video!  It was a video about the Hanukkah story, featuring a song written by Jordan and a dance choreographed by me.  We had a lot of fun on the project and especially enjoyed getting our "adopted" sister, Lindsey, to join us in the dancing fun!

Here are the behind the scenes pictures of all our hard work!
And that, my friends, is our lovely backdrop.  Tape included.

Trying to get the camera angle right... and no one doing a very good job of helping out.

 Working with the little guys.

 Dance shots.

We only had an hour to put this dance together... and no one but me knew how to do it!  Everyone did such a great job catching on quickly.

Keeping the arms up, because it is just so much better that way.  ;)
(That was a tricky jazz step I insisted everyone learn--it looks great!)

Laughing because something went wrong, which is a good thing because it means we're happy.  :)

 Having some fun!

Contemplating the idea of adding a sequence from the Fox Trot...  ;)

Hava Nagila backtracking...

The ending is a favorite!

This must have been an amusing conversation.

After all our hard work, we decided to have a bit of fun with the infamous "Awkward Family Photo" (for all you Studio C lovers out there)!

A couple nights later, we all work on our movie developments... while Eden kicks back and eats ice cream!

Our movie's promo picture!

And yes, we have a blooper reel of all our fumbles, funnies, and fun!  Enjoy!

Independence Day 2014

Obviously I have a hard time keeping up with both blogging and summer!  It's okay though... I am enjoying everything and will get around to posting sooner or later.

For the 4th of July, we went to the S. family's annual party.  They are seriously amazing and put together and fantastic event!  The fun was tripled when we were accompanied by two of our friends.  :)

One big happy family!  Or pretty close to that.  :)

I had a wonderful time seeing my good friend, Melissa T. again!

There was one epic water balloon fight!  We went all out.  :)

And thanks to Paul L. taking these fantastic pictures because I didn't get to take as many as I intended!
Who knew Jordan had a hidden soccer talent?

My daddy and I posing for the pictures while everyone else talks.

Announcing pie contest winners.

Look out, Sarah!  Someone just might steal your pie!

In case you thought she was a perfect little angel...

And then there was this hilarious sign that mysteriously appeared on the B. family's trailer...

Who cares how it got there!  It sure looks nice on it!

And then this red car posed with a bunch of people...

Presentation time!

Mrs. S. and her granddaughter.

We played Shenandoah.

Shiloh and I accompanied Evan, Jordan, Elanee, and Eden as a vocal quartet while they sang The Star  Spangled Banner.

It was a blessed time celebrating America's freedom!
