Christian Heritage 2015

Every April our family enjoys attending the Christian Heritage Homeschool Conference.  It's an exciting time to fellowship with others and hear inspiring sessions.  Usually we are involved musically, and this year wasn't an exception.

Driving up we saw a gorgeous rainbow that stretched all the way across the road!

The little kids enjoyed meeting President George Washington!  I contemplated asking him why he wasn't in the White House, but decided that the subject might not be a pleasant one to broach.  ;)

Oh, and Paul Revere also showed up.

Jordan did a fantastic job playing performing one of his piano solos.

Singing in the Chorale is always a highlight!

This year they had a string orchestra accompany one of the Chorale songs.  I had a great time as the Concertmaster with my faithful stand partner, Amy H.

Katelyn O. was another one of our first violinists and she was such a sweet girl!  It's always fun to make a new friend.  :)

Once again we hosted our Annual End of the Conference Party which was our biggest yet!

This year we added dancing.  I had a blast calling the dances!

Taylor S. was our trusty DJ who kept the music going through the speakers of his truck!

And this deserted parking garage was just perfect!

A few of us took a ride back in the pickup.

 Good friends!

 Boys will be boys!

Benefit Concert 2015

Last month we were blessed to play a set in a benefit concert for the Post Family in Papua New Guinea with Wycliffe Bible Translators USA.  It's always nice to play a gig to raise money for people who are missionaries, and our host, Elizabeth Z. does an incredible job putting the concert together!  Seriously, she is awesome.  There is always a wonderful turnout and a smooth running concert.

Hanging out after dinner, waiting to being the concert.

Because of some crazy and unplanned things that came up, I wasn't able to give my camera to anyone to take pictures... so I am very thankful for Lindsey and Evan S. sharing the pictures they took with us.

Lindsey and Havilah ready for the concert to begin.

This time around we had Daddy join us on the Congas and Cecily on Bodhran.  They were back there in the Percussion Section, keeping a good grooving beat!

Jordan owning the piano.

Our set lineup was quite fun as we had two duet sections.  Jordan and Eden just kind of look like 50's crooners.

Fun at the mics.

I got to take up the piano part for this one.  (Thanks for turning pages, Melissa!)

One Accord on stage... and on the piano, you just can't see it in this picture.

Or this one... because the piano isn't on the stage.

Shiloh and I sang "The Stepsisters' Lament" from Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella.

We had a lot of fun with this one.

Aren't those feathers just delicious?!

It gets vicious.  They aren't called the Ugly Stepsisters for nothing... (I say "they" because I do not embody the qualities of Ugly Stepsisters in real life. ;) )

Shiloh on harp.

Eden as our lead singer and me multitasking.

It was a lot of fun to have Mommy join us on a few of the songs!

Jordan singing from the piano.

After our set, we sat back and enjoyed lots of other fun musical selections from other groups.  The Post family shared about what the Lord has been doing through their ministry.  They had a lot of wonderful things to say.

Usually we can't take a selfie because everyone wants to be in it!

After concert cookie consumption in three... two... one...

Group picture with the One Accord gang!  It was a fun evening.  :)

California Dreaming: Part 2

Break in the action!  This is the second part to our big March California trip.
The remainder of our trip was spent at Grandma's House.

Grandma opening a present.

Cousins and best friends.  Sadly, we didn't get to see all of them this time around.  :(  One day we will have that big cousin reunion...  :)

Grandma's pool is glorious!  I grew up swimming there with my siblings and cousins, and it was so special to do it again together.

Crazy things happen!  We ended up with this cool car thanks to a mistake from the rental company.

We took a couple days to head over to Anaheim Ballet where we all danced while growing up.  Mommy got to visit with her special friend Carolyn, and we all met a new friend, Madison.
Dynamite comes in small packages.

A beautiful sunset over the school.

Auntie Kaggy (my mom's best friend) and Uncle Ted came over for a very special visit.

They went on a double take, complete with taking the Mustang for a spin!

 Girl picture!
Uncle Ted playing trains with the boys.

Bible Bee friends, the C. boys came over for a fun visit.  We had a blast swimming and playing basketball!

My dad taught me how to do the Swan Dive.

No, it did not end up as a belly-flop.  ;)

Success!

A highlight was taking an evening trip to Downtown Disney with cousin Hope.
Catching the tail end of the fireworks.

Judah in front of the Rainforest Cafe.

 Finding Nemo.  Or something.

Hope explaining some interesting facts about fish.  Or something.

You'd think we were movie stars!

Ben coming face to face with a snake!

Conquering the Disney Vault with as much brawn as we could muster.

Beauty (who looked kind of like a beast) and the Beast.

The Disney Hotel.

 Those smiles though.  :)

Hope and I are just so cute...  ;)

Jordan, Eden, and Mark hanging out on the couch together.

Shiloh and Uncle Rob.

Cousin craziness goes from one thing...

To the next!
 Best uncle ever!

 The families that photobomb together...

 Stay together!

 Aunt Laurie, Grandma, and Mommy.

Aw, I miss everyone so much!

That was long post, but there is no possible way to put such a glorious trip into one little post.  I am so thankful to the Lord for all His bountiful blessings!
