Christmas

We have had a very busy, exciting, and wonderful Christmas Season which we will remember fondly!  I hope each and every one of you have also made warm memories.

Getting the tree off the lot.
The two men that ran this lot where twin brothers... they were hilarious!

Wrapping paper fight!  Perhaps this is what gets us into the Christmas spirit???
(Obviously Jordan got swallowed up in the action as you can barely see him back there!)

Okay, he needs a haircut, but you really can't get much cuter!

We went to a goodbye party for the special D. Family.  They are going to be missionaries in Japan.

The men praying for their family.  We are excited to see how God will use them, but we are also going to miss them.

Um... you have to know the history to get the joke.

Me, Elanee S, and Eden on the rocks.

No, we are not going up in the rapture (even though this was suppose to be the end of the world according to the Mayan calender!)

Does this hat fit my style?

Um, I don't think so!

The two "E's" have something brewing...!

 Snow!!!

You can see the little children playing in it in this picture.

 Opening presents on Christmas day!!!

 Now what could that be?!

 Mommy got the biggest present.

 Boots and their new wearer!
(Or should I say, Eden and her new boots!)

Ready for work!

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."
~Isaiah 9:6

We just went ice-skating to finish off the Christmas season with a big "hurrah"!  Maybe I can get some pictures from that...

Bowling

Last year we all went bowling with the S. Family.  When we went again this December, we decided that this would officially be a tradition!

Not only did we bowl, but we also had dinner at a restaurant, dessert at our house, sight-sang all sorts of choral music and folk songs around the piano, discussed future plans, and watched Living Water's "Genius" (if you haven't seen it, change that and watch it!).

 Getting the teams set up.
(And if we look like we are all excited about our names, that's because they weren't our names!)

This little guy was a great bowler
(you should have seen his "follow-through"!)  and super excited!

 Daddy helping the little kids.

Eden didn't have much of a stance at all... just flinging the ball down that lane was enough!

Jordan was outnumbered as the only left handed bowler!

I have no idea what we were laughing out!

Me.  I was delighted to make a total of five strikes!  (Much better than my one strike from last time!)

 Evan S. has style!

Daddy getting ready to show us his technique.

 Waiting to bowl.

I think Yvonne S. was trying to impersonate an Austen character having a ball.
(Inside joke!)

Shiloh and a very ecological ball (hence the "green" color).

This must be a special club meeting... ahem, ahem!

Jordan and Evan S. really look like they got more than they bargained for when we did a boy-against-girls game...
Um... well, the picture is a bit deceiving.  We girls lost.

Mommy shows us how to bowl a spare.

 Daddy makes a good shot!

Back at home, I found a way to improve my height.
(And that's not as easy as it looks!  If you don't believe me, you'll have to give it a try!)

The Argyle Sweater Club.
(If you want to join this club, you gotta get one too!)

We were so blessed for this special day of fellowship.  We love you S, Family!  Oh, and next year... the girls are going to win!

Craft Fair!

We participated in a craft fair back in November...  Not only did we get to sell our goods, but we also spent time with friends and sang like crazy!

Our table in the middle there...

 For Sale!

But selling wasn't the only thing we did... and (as you can tell) some hat sampling was on someone's list!

Are they good lookin' or what?!

Some pictures are just so captionible!  :D
Jordan looks so unsuspecting........................

Of course we were singing and playing Christmas carols!

Cleaning up.  :)

Thanksgiving 2012

We were so blessed to spend Thanksgiving with some very special families.  One of the most unique moments of the day was when we passed around five kernels of corn and each shared some things that we were really thankful for.  Mr. S. brought up the point of how people often say that they are thankful for things, but forget Who we should be thanking.  All these things are possible by the Lord and we must not forget to thank Him for it.

We spent the day and evening eating (the new diet we are all on is "sea food and eat it"), talking, visiting, and playing Four on a Couch.

Evan S. really captured the warm, intimate environment of the dinner.

Sitting with friends.

Benjamin and Yvonne S. having a great time!

And over on our side of the table (a.k.a the fun side), Elanee S. and Elsie D. are beaming!
Settling down for a game of "Four on a Couch".

Getting strategies in mind!

Elise D. and I plotting something, I'm sure!

Jordan getting ready to make a guess...

We played "Boys vs. Girls" and in the picture, it looks like the boys are ahead!

As the game got more confusing and muddled, certain players decided that they need some comic relief: Swapping glasses!

Yvonne S. with glasses.

Elanee S. is not sure these are in her color palette!  ;)

Glasses definitely change your looks!

Love this one of Elise!

"Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.  For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations."
