Happy Reformation Day!

Hello Everyone~

John Calvin here...

I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Reformation Day!
And I also wanted to post a quote from one of the greatest Reformers....  Martin Luther:

"Here I stand...  I can do no other.  So, help me God, Amen!"
I hope you all have had a wonderful Reformation Day!

Until Next Time,

John Calvin

Recording Session 1

After months of practice, talking on the phone, taking lessons, and getting tons of opinions I finally recorded my first session.  I am pleased and excited to announce, "That's a wrap!"
Here I am recording something. (I can't remember what!)
Note: This is what Michael (my engineer) calls, "The attack of the microphones!"

Here is a video of a section of "Crown Him with Many Crowns", at the end I do a retake; that's why I stop and start again.

Now I move on to post-production.  Mixing, editing, graphic design... and so on!!!

Thank you to all the people who answered my many questions.  From loose strung bass strings, to piano mixes, to copyright lawyers and ASCAP!  I'm very appreciative!

2010 Christain Heritage Ladies Tea

A few weekends ago, us girls and Mommy were blessed to attend the 2010 Christian Heritage Ladies Tea!  It was a wonderful day and us girls enjoyed spending time with each other and our dear Mother.

Here are the pictures from our outing!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 We all woke up at a very early 5:00 AM!
Then our friends, the A. family met up with us, and off we went!
Eden and Ava trying to catch up on some much needed sleep!
Mommy, Mrs. A, and our wonderful friend, "Garmin" (GPS) helped us with the navigation.
But of course the trip wouldn't have been half as fun if we didn't get lost...!
"Should we go this way???"
"Or that way???"
But thankfully we arrived safely at our destination!  PTL!
The "Tea Room".
Here we are listening to the speakers.
Having tea... and trying to be proper!
I love every one's expressions!  :)
For an activity, we did a crossword puzzle on "Godly Women in the Bible".
We worked very hard and finished before the allotted time slot!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shortly after, there was a break...
And we all went to look at the articles that some talented girls had made...
This pretty dress was made by Eden...

And this cute little hat, Shiloh made!

Meanwhile... Eden and I headed off to take some pictures (of course!)...
Waiting for the very slow elevator!
(And Eden did say, "Wow!  This is ancient!  I hope it won't get stuck...!")

This is our favorite!  The lighting is very interesting.

But then I took my camera, and ran up the long staircase... while Eden took her camera and ran down the long staircase...

And there she is way down there... (Click on the picture)

...And there I am, way up there!  (Click on the picture)

Then we got serious (sort of...) and took pictures of:
"We Three Sisters"
And:

Us with our dear Mother!

Then we finished up the tea and visited with our friends.
Eden with one of the speakers.

Talking with our dear friends the S. Family and A. Family.

Us girls were delighted to meet Kami C. of Crooked Streams Photography.
"It was very fun meeting you, Kami!"

But all too soon, we actually had to go home!

Oh, but not without a stop at Starbucks!
We were very thankful fro a safe and easy drive home...
And---YIPPEE!!!!!  We had a wonderful time, too!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, If you were at this tea, or you've been before, or if you want to go, please comment and tell us!  (Of course you can comment anyway...!)
We'd love to hear from you!
Preproduction on a Perfect Piano!
As some of you know, (and some of you don't know!) I have been working on a CD for which the title hasn't even been finalized!!! Yikes! Yesterday my engineer and I went to a recital hall where I plan to record.  We went to check out the acoustics and the piano.  The piano turned out to be much more then I expected.  I mean, 9'6' Bosendorfers that retail for $198,000 are kind of hard to pass up!!!
Below is a movie of one of my "unfinished arrangements". If you think you hear the second movement of Beethoven's Eighth Piano Sonata, or the first movement of Tchaikovsky's First Piano Concerto; that's because it's supposed to be in there!!!
This is a movie of my engineer and I "working"!  (Even though this piece does not even show up on the CD.)
Thanks Michael, I had fun!
Birthday Boating...
For Jordan's Birthday, we went boating on a reservoir.  We rented a Pontoon Boat with a motor and then set sail for a very exciting day!  Complete with fishing, filming (more about that later), and fun!
Enjoy this post!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We're ready to set sail!  Here Jordan gets ready to drive...
While waiting, Eden snapped this picture of me standing at the end of the dock.  I thought the shot looked really neat!
Our family getting ready to go....
 Daddy helped Jordan back out of the harbour...
...And then we were off!
Mommy really enjoyed the warm sunshine...
And had a nice nap on the back seat!

Eden makes sure Jordan is heading in the right direction.

And a certain little sailor was eyeing a certain little steering wheel...

...Until he hopped in the drivers seat and took the boat over!  (Complete with chocolate on his face!)

Shiloh and I (I'm in her sunglasses!).
Eden and I hanging off the boat so I could get this picture:

Under the boat!

Then we decided that it would be fun to do some fishing.  So we stopped the boat and dropped in the anchor.
"Land A-Ho!"

Eden finds a new way to fish... complete with ballet arms and pointed toes!
But the fish were really not biting there, so we moved to a different location.
And us girls had our turns at the wheel!

Driving...

...Until we pulled up by a dam.  Ah!  Here was a good place to fish!

This was a better place to fish... here Eden and Jordan cast off their lines.
Shiloh fishing from off the boat.

Jordan way out there...

And here's me (after I slipped off the "pretty" safe logs... into the water... half-way!)
I actually caught a fish but lost him when I reeled him in!

And Mommy and Judah enjoyed the rest of the day.
Us all on the logs!
What a wonderful day we had!
----------------------

And here's a quick movie I filmed of underneath the boat...
Talking about "filming"... stay tuned for the movie the World Changing Productions filmed while out on this trip!
You don't want to miss it!!!!!
