Snowbirds?

If you remember this post, I mentioned that our severe case of Cabin Fever messed with our brains and caused us to do all sorts of crazy things like taking lots of random pictures, hosting our personal Winter Olympics, and even take a Barefoot Snow Sprint.  Right, I guess we really have difficulty coping with a very untimely snowstorm that left us snowed in and cutoff from the outside world.

But thankfully it is only a memory now!

Now, don't get me wrong... I really do think snow is beautiful and fun, but when you live in a place where your electricity and water will go out at the slightest change in the weather, you start to reevaluate your priorities.

Snow... or... Electricity and Water?

Electricity and Water wins every time.

Anyway, snow does make a lovely photoshoot location, so we took advantage of that possibility!

Mommy and Daddy exploring our property's "new look".

Hm, writing in the snow like this must be how Eskimos right letters to each other.
No, that wouldn't work so well because by the next snowstorm--okay, forget that.

 This is how Californians live.

Hey, we are smiling!

Snow showers!
Mahalo Nui Loa!!!

And then we had some fun...

 Surf's up!

Taking a break before catching the next wave...

With a stunning background, we waiting for the snow to stop before running out with our interments to take a few snaps (no, I do not normally bring my violin out into those temperatures, but I made sure we worked fast!).

Shiloh brought her harp out for some nice shots.

I guess this is how harpists workout!  ;)

Then Jordan decided it might be fun to photobomb...

...And he did have a little fun.

That is, until...
Guys, don't mess with this girl!  It won't be pretty.

Well, the snow melting quite a few days ago and life has gone back to our busy normal.  However, I will admit that despite the fact that we did have a power outage and missed the conference Jordan and I were playing music at, I did enjoy experiencing God's amazing and gorgeous creation.  Each little snowflake is different and a testimony to His incredible design.
It is rather interesting, when the Bible mentions snow, sometimes it is in the context of Salvation.  When we are cleansed and forgiven from our filthy sins, the blood of Jesus Christ washing us and makes us pure and clean... just like snow.
"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."
~Isaiah 1:18
"Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow"
~Psalm 51:7

Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Oh wow...what fun pictures! I love the ones with the surfboard. Haha;) We didn't get any snow at all this winter, but we did have a major ice storm in Dec. that caused our whole town to be without electricity for 5 days. Not fun :( Thankfully the weather here is back up in the 70's now and we're so glad!! :)

Wonderful pictures!! The ones with your instruments are soooo beautiful!!! And then the ones with Jordan photo-bombing are totally awesome! : -)

I'm with your mom, though, all bundled up. That would be me! And I'd probably be watching all the snow fun from the warm comforts of the house, while preparing hot cocoa for my frozen children (with the blessing of electricity!: -)

Thanks for capturing all those special moments and sharing them here!!! Made us smile! : -)
Lots of love,
Mrs. Bowes
