The Death of America's Future
By: Shiloh S.
Today in America there is a battle raging, a battle between world views, and a battle between life and death. This battle began roughly around 38 years ago when Norma McCorvey went to court to legalize abortion. Finally on January 22, 1973 the United States accepted abortion as an acceptable practice. Daily abortions are being performed all around us. Since Roe vs. Wade over 50,000,000 abortions have been performed in the United States alone this means that more children die each year then the amount of Americans who have died in the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, World Wars I and II, the Korean, Vietnam, Gulf and Iraq wars combined. In the state of Oregon an average of 35 children are killed through abortion daily. In fact records show us that in 2005 a stunning total of 12, 246 Oregon abortions were performed. It is devastating see how much of our Countries population is being killed by a doctor’s skillful hand.

In her book Women and the New Race, Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood declared, “The most merciful thing a large family can do to one of its infant members is to kill it.” This sentence pretty much sums up the reality behind abortion. Women all around the world are taught that the fetus within them isn’t really alive at first it’s just a jumble of cells. Cells that at this point don’t really matter. Unfortunately many women and teens believe these lies and allow a doctor to destroy the life which God choose to bless them with. Even though Planned Parenthood may tell women that the baby isn’t really alive at the very beginning Margaret Sanger in her quote reveals the hidden truth: abortion is killing! Abortion is murder to the weakest and tiniest human among us even though while enutero the fetus is nearly microscopic that little baby is really an alive, breathing human being.

Life comes first. No matter what Planned Parenthood, the pro-choice fanatics, or others say there is absolutely no way to get around this. Life comes first. The very moment the sperm enters into the egg a new life is formed. Life begins at conception. The very second life starts there is a living, breathing new little person that will grow to someday become a unique individual. At this point in life a very special event is taking place. In about nine months a fully formed fearfully and wonderfully made baby will be welcomed into the world. This new little miracle from the Lord will be greeted for the first time by parents, siblings, grandparents, relatives, and friends everyone who has been patiently waiting for this little ones arrival. Babies are special gifts which the Lord has given to humanity. Life does come first and life begins immediately!

In closing, I hope I have convicted you with realizing the reality and the underlying truth of abortion. This battle between life and death is a hard one. Please try to take the time to daily pray for the many women and teens that right now are going through the doors of an abortion clinic. Pray for their children who are minutes away from death and pray for the future of America.

We enjoyed doing this contest and it was a great experience for us to use our talents for the glory of God!
